#229 ➤ A QUIET LIFE / A LOUD DEATH

This is probably the only release from this project that isn’t strictly a ‘song’. I don’t know why i came up with the idea of doing this at all, but it was probably a welcome break to me at the time. The idea was simple: i was going to use four fingers to make 100 random sounding piano chords – the weirder and odder the better – and then i was going to sing one held note over the chord and hopefully end up with something that sounds absolutely weird and terribly ugly. It was definitely more of an audio experiment than a song – but it has a place next 364 other actual songs for sure. An experiment like 365 Sparks can do weird things to one’s thoughts in order for repetition to stay away from the door. Obviously i cannot play every instrument in existence, so sometimes my experimentation was song-based or idea-based as opposed to being written on a brand new instrument. It’s weird, it’s long and a lot of you are going to hate it [but i secretly think i wrote it for that reason].
