#006 ➤ KILL THE CHORDS

A song about wanting to keep creating more songs – it was always bound to happen. Writing and recording so many songs can be daunting, scary and stressful – but completing and listening to a finished song that you created from absolutely nothing – is just thrilling and addictive. Who needs alcohol when i get the same kick from song pregnancies [and without the hangover and empty wallet!]. This song is about me not wanting to stop creating music. The good news is that i haven’t stopped; i’ve been recording this year as if it were last and i don’t plan to stop for a while yet. Musically i just wanted something sharp, short and to-the-point. I often listen to historical speeches as i find them inspiring & on the day of writing and recording, i heard Vice President Spiro Agnew’s address on Vietnam and it seemed to fit what i was trying to say so i borrowed it. My only regret with this song is that there isn’t more natural places in the song to use the ‘it’s such a pretty melody to be in love with sound‘ refrain – as it’s my favourite part.
